Bring back a memory or six?
I didn't realise drones had been around that long.

But Zeppelins were, but you'd think somebody in that shot would have noticed.

I suppose the Creeks in that Vid. are all concrete drains now. Such is progress eh?

The various Redcliffe Councils (now Moreton Bay Regional Council), over the years, have been pretty good with a lot of the creek areas, especially in the CBD, for want of a better term. Humpy Bong creek is a pleasant, ponded, park area with a diversity of bird life.

Bells Ck., at Clontarf, is a different matter altogether but was altered yonks ago.

In my opinion, the Councils of the last 20 odd years have done a lot more good infrastructural improvements on the Peninsula, than bad.

    Some would argue, I'm sure!

That goes without saying for any Council Project.

The Redcliffe Historical museum ? is beside Humpybong creek. If you get a chance drop in for a look, I think it is gold coin donation. Outside the museum is a chair made from the wood from the old Hornibrook bridge, and just up a bit are the remains of the convict built weir, used to supply water to the early settlers. A walk along Humpybong creek is interesting, with all the bird life . It ends near the Redcliffe RSL, another popular watering hole. Redcliffe was the destination for a few good rugby league players from the Downs. My cousin came down from Dalby, they got him a job with the council, he played for Redcliffe for years. A few good players at Redcliffe, Henry Holloway, Kevin yow yeh, Arthur Beetson, Peter Leis, Tony Obst, Brian Luff , Col Weir, and Bevan Bleakley, just to name a few. And who could forget Robert Orchard, NZ test player, who flattened John Gleeson in 1967 at a Test at Lang Park, and was then flattened himself by Noel Kelly.

    Robert Orchard.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Have to mention Bevan Bleakley, Kilcoy boy, fought for the Australian light middleweight title at 18, Played for Redcliffe under Henry Holloway as coach, when Arthur Beetson and George Gledhill were the props. Bevan is a fixture at the Brighton Roosters, and even at a ripe old age, demands respect. If you go to the Redcliffe leagues club Bevan has his image etched in glass at one of the bars. [ not sure which one, but you get like that at the Redcliffe Leagues.]

Well that would be freakin' spooky alright. I don't think I'd like to line up with him, he was a solid bugger.
