I also used to share a bus with Catholic Kids. The girls down the back were even worse.

'er indoors also went to a Cattalick school in Mogadishu/Mombasa (Kilidini) no viaduct to tarry on but a Ferry.

The Chinese are removing the existing Ferry & building a bridge for them which they won't be able to afford to pay back & China will have another country in it's debt. Mombasa being a strategically & well equipped large harbour.

Ah, yes! The State School yokels and churls. I suppose, Ian, that you oft frequented that local den of iniquity, namely, the Rollerdrome!

Nah, I couldn't skate to save my life. I was more drawn to the amusement arcade a couple of hundred yards south.
Had I known it was a den of iniquity, I more than likely would have frequented said establishment.

Instead of which you subscribed to here your thinking being that they would all be the same.

Speaking of "War Cries" ours was "Catholic dogs jump like frogs in & out the teachers Gobs"

Reading that today it made no sense whatsoever, none. But I suppose we thought we were Wordsworths or Adam Lindsay Gordons & although being behind glass windows, thought we were unseen & oblivious to any retribution.
Mind you we never chanted that on arrival but only as we were leaving. As you do. I mean who really wants a house Brick put through the Bus window?

As a matter of some interest one of our "Gang" claimed vehemently that he was a nephew of the Late Captain of the then lost HMAS Sydney off WA, although his name was different but I suppose it could have been on his Mother's side. Have often wondered about that. I saw him selling Newspapers years later but of course he couldn't add anything to his claim. That couldn't have have happened until just recently. I hope he was happy with the result.

Alas, Chook, I fell into the pervasive clutches of Protestant hedonism, all due to having some of the aforementioned State School peons as good mates!
