    There is a trend at the moment for factories to new build replicas of rare or no longer existant models from their past. Prices are astronomical and for well healed customers. Turns out that as they are built to original spec cannot road register them. As new build have to meet current design rules which of course as exact replicas they do not

    It was on in when I bought it in 1981! Am sure the RTA or what ever it was called back then had no idea of the relevance of it.

    Wish I had never sold it but I was heading offshore and had no choice. In fact wish I had never sold any of the series or defenders I have owned in the last 40 odd years. ;-(

    I'm all for simple .... I'd just buy a parts car and "restore" it by moving its ID numbers to the newie .... the best part about this .... Is I still have a handy parts car to use .... just one that isn't burdened down with build plates and chassis numbers
