    Yup I am on my second Xiaomi - old one working fine after 4 years, just suffered from the same planned obsolescence they all do. By my reckoning, about half the price or less compared to an equivalent Samsung or the like. And yes, reasonably frequent OS updates.

    Don't think I feel a need to run the same tests, though, as the OP... Oops, new respect for Chinese phones

    I've still got my old Telstra phone. Problem is, every time I try to go more than a metre or so from the wall socket it unplugs. Crap with app compatibility too.

    Great phones, I'd still be using a 4s but the screen got smashed again and someone had a 5s they weren't using.

    Will probably get one of the latest SE's before they all gat sold.......... no frills but with the latest chip.

    T find the quality is great with Apple stuff, especially batteries.

    My hand me down oukitel K1000 is great, replaced the battery and LCD/touch assembly for less than $50 .
    Battery lasts a week and it runs all the apps I need.

    For almost all communications hardware (or at least a large component of them) there are 2 choices - Korea or PRC...
