Which means they will be readily available at Quilpie Tyrepower - not! I'm having a serious think about putting my name on the Grenadier wait-list, I was hoping the wheels would be 16" in the "traditional" LR stud pattern.
Just watched a short video of the Grenadier re tyres.
Standard will be 17 inch steel or ali wheels with either Bridgstone or BF Goodridge tyres.
18 inch will also be available.
Both tyres are completely new made specifically for the Grenadier.

But 17's and 18's are standard on all the commonly available utes, and the Prado and 200 Series
Another case of getting too fancy whilst pretending to be hard core.
Ford Raptor springs to mind, drives and performs great on the factory supplied rubber - notably different once you switch away to a standard BFG or another brand.
Tubing a vehicle to run in a set configuration will put a big divide in the community.
The most popular size tyre, currently is 245x16.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I was disapointed as well when I saw it. Because of brakes blabla 17" and not 16. -meh-
Seriously, how hard can it be to create decent brakes that fit 16" wheels? Is it lack of rotor size? or are the calipers the problem. I know it adds complexity but would dual calipers (one front and one rear of the rotor) help? Thicker rotors?
Anyway, 17" is not the end of the world but we'll see when it comes out. Who knows, some people might get creative in getting 16" wheels on
Regarding the special tyres, I did not get that at all. It's all fine and dandy if you want to go the extra mile to get yourself a special tyre but I'd rather they spent that time on getting the wheels down to 16"
Anyhow, can't wait for pricing to become fixed and some other important stuff to become clear. I might indeed pick myself one up to replace my P38 as overlander.
Cheers,
-P
