I wonder what will be learnt from this fiasco or more importantly, what will be allowed to be learnt from this?
..........and it is a 'Fiasco', by definition.

A fiasco is a disaster. It's not a natural disaster — like an earthquake or a volcano; a fiasco is usually the result of human failure. Fiasco comes from the Italian term that means "to make a bottle." How it came to describe an utter, embarrassing, disaster in the English language is still unknown.

Yes, it has to be asked just why it has taken so long without a viable result. Very easy to criticise from here as we are not on the ground, but it is an island after all, and not some vast bushland.

Environmental considerations, the fire was only handed over to QFRS, from Parks & Wildlife this weekend.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

No good for standard 'Red Trucks' but OK for most Qld RFS units. Several tracks cater for large, tourist buses so width and height isn't an issue on these.
Most of the island though, is inaccessible to larger vehicles............................except dozers

I'm no Bush Fire expert but, I'm thinking that, with Fraser being 100% sand, a sand containment line would would be pretty effective. Right or wrong?

I know to not throw sand on a fire but a firebreak is a bit different.

50 residents are staying put to help fight the fire, while the NSW 737 air tanker is on the way.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Hmm. You just jogged my memory that I have/had several examples of Fulgurite from Fraser and also the D.I. Point area.

    Wonder where they are?
