Good suggestion, Scarry. I'll have a scratch around.

What to expect when the fire is over

Much of the commentary on these fires has focused on how these landscapes are “meant to burn”, and that (luckily) there have been no major fires in the fire-sensitive, rainforest-style ecosystems in the island’s centre.
However, the fact remains that a fire of this magnitude will alter the ecological balance on the island. Let’s explore why.

The K'gari-Fraser Island bushfire is causing catastrophic damage. What can we expect when it's all over? (theconversation.com)
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

    Finally charged.

Four charged over illegal campfire that left Fraser Island ablaze for two months - ABC News

Would you believe there are reports that campers were setting off fireworks last night......

They’ll get a slap in the wrist and a fine is all but they should do a stint in the clink to set an example to others IMO. Huge fire on Fraser Island

As well as a bit of Castration. Some may think that may be going a bit too far but I dunnoooooo. Certainly would be a reminder to those in the future to study Scouting for Boys on Campfires & RFS Regulations for same.

The other alternative Punishment is to have the 4 of them take off along the beach all together & Zig Zagging while angry residents chase/hunt them.

That will also sort out the best crack shots in the communities & a nice suitable award to be given.. One for Open Sights & one for Telescopic.

Could also be made an Annual Event. Targets those times would be for halfwits who bugger up the environment there.
    Job done.

Meanwhile back in the real World , a suitable punishment would be to put them under the supervision of the firefighters who had to fight the fire. Don't know where they come from, but 6 months being bum boys to the local bush fire brigade might give them a whole new outlook. From all reports they were just foolish boys, there was no intent. They should consider themselves lucky no one died, or property wasn't lost. A different story then. Either that or have them work under Parks & Wildlife on Fraser, But you wouldn't call that a punishment.

    Or a new Anus.

At those ages, young blokes were dying in wars & Commanding Vessels & Lancasters over Germany & many other places around the world. My young Uncle (RAAF) was 21 when he was shot down over the Celebes right at the beginning of WW2.

Let us hope the RFS could **** some sense into them.

Absolutely right! what we need is a War to kill and maim a few thousand of them, that would get their attention. I'm just glad you and I have never made a mistake in our lives. Bring back the lash I say. Didn't do the convicts any harm.

I like your thinking bob. The cat & nine never bothered me at the odd times I got it, it was the rubbing in of the salt water afterwards that smarted a tad.

Mind you though, the Keel Hauling was worse especially when both parties couldn't make their minds up at whose turn it was to pull & they left one under the keel until they sorted themselves out. Then it was back on again.

    Ahhh happy days.
