Yep, I worked all my life and thought in another couple of years I would retire go fishing, enjoy trips, I didnt think the by the time I was 61, I would be like this depending more and more on others
    .
what's the old saying? we're here for a good time , not a long time.
I never had those thoughts, in hind site I should have been less conservative and PARTIED HARD.

the Ndis is doing another "Light Touch "review of my of to sort out some issues, this resets funds already used back to the original amount allocated ( Resets the meter)

Here we are at the end of March, builders cant access money approved in Plan for funding the bathroom mods that were approved as they were on the old plan and time has expired . No one could come up with an answer to this problem. For the last couple of months and frustration some one has the answer. Unbeknown to every one the solution was for me to access my NDIS portal through MYGOV, as no one else can access the service booking and and enter an revised amount $ in there click a button and wait. This then starts the gears again and starts the system to wake up and starts querying, it then sends the builder and email to say do you accept this funding. So now they should be starting soon . Fingers crossed, they are scheduled for door widening and lift prep in mid May, but have been told Bathroom is priority.

Mean While back t the ranch , While I type this I wait for a plumber from the Temporary Shower hire place to come and fix up the AGAIN LEAKING UNIT that FLOODS THE ROOM GRRRR!.
they need to dismantle and move it so we can mop up the water under it. This flood occurred on the Weekend of course.

I've had a lot of patience but my pressure safety valve is going to blow.

I understand your frustration Mario, but remember, doing your block is not likely to improve the situation, more the converse.

Newstart?!?!?!. They had me on that while they decided if caring for a then 98 year old bedridden woman was worthy of the Carer's pension. $5** a fortnight back then. Plus show evidence of job seeking. I was 64, my wife had just died and they wanted me to go fruit picking or something.

I hate being dependent on hand outs, but I paid taxes for nearly 50 years. And will do so again.

Gotta be frustrating and I feel for you guys......

I thankfully don’t have to interact with the government much, but when I did the department were average and frustrating to deal with, sadly I wouldn’t have thought NDIS would be any better than the rest.

John, Dad was killed in a motor vehicle accident on the way to work one morning, he didn't have a will and died intestate. Mu was a home maker and hade ever worked. The joint bank account was immediately frozen so she had no funds for every day living. ( surprising how fast the banks know about death)
She went to Centrelink to apply for the widows pension and was told to get into the dole queue.
She was lucky the union came up with an interest free loan for the funeral costs , and a whip around at Dad's work.

A guest appearance on ABC's 7.30 Report by Moi and a feature report and the union head had the matter sorted shortly after and mum was approved for the widow's pension.

That's rough, Mario. Fortunately things have changed with the banks. Jan died intestate, it took ages to get probate, but the bank was actually quite helpful to me ( Bendigo ). Centrelink not so much, but I have to say that when they did finally give me the Carer's pension for mum they back paid me. Also, I had previously been on the Carer's pension for Jan, and when she died they gave me a one off "bereavement" payment of $2+K. Swings and roundabouts.
