all systems are go, l had a chippy for the week widening doorways and hanging doors new and fitting lever door furniture. We paid the extra to get better doors as ndis understandardly fund basic. We did same with the bathroom fittings. An large skip just arrived and the front balcony and lift prep is starting today. the after access for me is done, then they will start the bathroom guttering and mods.

Well today the builder that has been working here told us that another guy is coming tomorrow 28th to start pulling out the bathroom. This company that is doing the works are going flat out for us, to get everything done for Mario. At least we don't have to chose wall and floor tiles, as they where bought by us last year as well as the double shower and mixer, and rail. Heather

From experience getting good co-ordination of the involved Trades can really drive you scatty but I'm glad to see things are on track for you both.

The stupid "Tile Removalist" didn't plug the floor waste when he removed our tiles so subsequently when they flow tested the floor drainage, it didn't.

Had to go though another rigamarole to get some geezer with the cleaning gear to clear it out as it had semi-solidified.

Need a photo of you and your new chair Mario (at least your chair if you don't like photos )
Glad it's happening!! The way ndis is now going to have the independent assessments is terrifying. Feels very work over ish.
They also need actual humans with disabilities working there as well as the folks who do have no clue or training or knowledge! The way my car mods were declined first time round based on market value is a prime example!!!
And the attitude of the lady who declined the powerchair initially and told me she felt sorry for my wrong choice of manual wheelchair as they won't approve the powerchair. I put a formal complaint in against that one.
Its awful the way we are treated.
I got assaulted sort of last week reversing into a,disabled park, just trying to check my post box. Middle aged man decided to judge me. Banging on my window, blocked me in my car, yelling that I wasn't driving a disability vehicle, that I didn't look disabled. My permit wasn't mine. I then smashed my door into him, showed him my wheelchair and gave him an education on a few things!! Hate to see what he'd have been like to someone with an invisible disability whose need for disability parking permit still valid!!!! He was so angry and aggressive.
Im like I know my car is sexy My nightmare with the NDIS process. evidently disabled drivers also can't reverse My nightmare with the NDIS process.

So sorry to hear you got treated like that by that old cretin. i hope you rang the police and reported him abusing you, road rage, assault etc, he probably though a young lady, 4wd is an easy target.

l rang the council again about that bus parking problem , they are still doing it, As l passed the bus the other day on the off side of the bus and was exposed to traffic, l had another bus and 4wd come around the corner up the back of me whilst I was on the toad. l don't want to become a road statistic.
instead of risking it on the way home, l took the train home (1 stop) and was proud of my self, the train driver was great, pulling the ramp out for me to board and then off at my stop, only prob l had was topping up me card for the fare, a young lady waiting at the station did it for me .

l notice the council has acted on my complaints on all other things and have ground the concrete a bit at some cross overs.

So if someone doesn't look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame they are not disabled? Roight?

Good for you Leonie, some of those bloody olde gaffers need a bit of tellin' from time to time.

My Sis in Law has got something going on (?) but it is not visible & also gets a serve now & then from old bastards.

While not disabled myself I had an olde bloke give me one when I drove into a WW Car Park with my headlights on low on a Low Viz Foggy Day. When I straightened up to my 6'2" after getting out of the car (Disc 1) he quietened down a bit.

    Dunno. Cataracts or Suicidal Tendencies?

last week I had visit from my psychologist, during out home session, she asked if l had considered my end of life wishes. l told her l still had a few things to do in life before l will give thought to that.

Today we interviewed a carer, she's local a couple of streets away and a nurse, a bit zany but nice. she can do the getting me out of bed, showering me, dressing, toiletry and getting my breakfast in the mornings. Feels a bit funny that it's come to this, but it will relieve Heather.

My co ordinator is working on my next plan to ensure respite is added and a carer to transport me in case l want to go on a weekend away trip.
The builders a chiselling up the floor tiles in the bathroom as l type this. Gee that is a noisey process.
The works are expected to be complete in about 3 weeks.

You're right Mario, it is confronting when a sheaf of forms is shoved in front of you & you need to start making EOL decisions. That has been the main reason we haven't done ours. But, it has to be done & so it will in time, but only when we are comfortable with it. With a bit of luck I could kick the bucket before I do them so that would save all those decisions. Oh bugger! I see a small problem there.

You can probably do with a bit of " Zany."

    Q. What do I want to do with my S2A? A. Buggered if I know, right now I'm still driving it. Next?

i was at the cardiologist on Saturday, he previously thought a pace maker might be good for me to stabilise my BP but now though no benefit for me as MSA in Neurological. I spoke to him about my last moments as said to him as long as its painless like during my sleep, i don't want to experience asphyxiation or a massive heart attack. He told me heart attacks are not painful.
