    yeah, they are search engines...

    the other site was brought t it knees by them a few times...

    the yahoo one is the worst, spiders dont count in the users online tally tho.

    thats what they do for a living :P
    they index the content of "web" sites, thats why they call them spiders
    a major reason why is if you have google or yahoo toolbar then they are tracking where you go and when they learn about the site they come and visit it.

    once they know a place exists and it has changing conent they come on a regular basis.
