A friend's mother was like that, she retired to a little seaside town, I don't think she'd ever learnt to drive, she would ride her bicycle to the shops, and she'd go on holiday for a month and just pull the house door closed, not lock it, and tell the neighbour's she was going away. Tonight the temperature is to range from -4 to +1 degrees centigrade, depending on where your are.
The weather presenter then said that it will be colder on Tuesday night with temperatures going as low as -7 degrees centigrade.
It is to be dry up until Thursday when some wintry falls are expected.

This morning at 9.45 am the temperature in the work van read -2 degrees centigrade. At noon it read 0 degrees and at 3.00pm it read 3 degrees. It is dropping again now as evening comes in. Why the projected ground temperature was given got me wondering. Maybe it is for people who like to garden by moonlight. Still at -10 degrees you would need a jackhammer rather than a spade to penetrate the soil....
