Thanks !... now I'm stuck in front of a screen... 'not' doing all the jobs SWMBO would have me do... Terrible end of a day !

Not only that one, - the next two are VERY useful, for everyone, regardless of position.

Leadership without ego. A rare commodity.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Why so many incompetent men become leaders

And yet it is Ego that drives these people to do their TED talks Why so many incompetent men become leaders

His own Bio is evidence of ego. (Nothing wrong with it)

I haven't watched any of the links but might I suggest you need ego (confidence) without vanity or narcissism, or worse, landing on the sociopathic spectrum to be a good leader.

Most in politics and a lot of leadership positions display serious amounts of behaviour from what is referred to in psychology as the dark triad of pathologies.

Interestingly many of the best surgeons in the world fall into the Psychopath category.

These traits are also some of the biggest drivers of successful outcomes.

I'd argue they are drawn to positions of power and control and tend to push out those that have more empathy, so dominating their field.

And just an observation, vets are much more empathetic and with far better social skills than the majority of human specialists I've met.
