Just read a story in one of the Cooks wimmins mags re a girl who got run over by her LR Discovery. Apparently she parked it and got all her parcels out then as she walked away realised the vehicle was on it's way back down the driveway.
So she tries to stop it with parcels still in her arms, car won't stop and knocked her over and ran over her head with the rear wheels. Not quite sure but it seems the fronts didn't quite do that and stopped just after resting on her head.
Very lucky girl as apparently she suffered bad cuts etc but nowhere near what could be expected from a near 3 ton vehicle running her over. Obviously got a thick head.
Now I wonder why this happened? Was it yet another example of lazy driving where they just can't be bothered applying the hand/park brake? I've seen so many incidents resulting from this including a drowned vehicle at the local marina where the driver just walked away for a fag and her Hyundai overtook her and ended up roof deep in the water. A car ran out of a driveway in front of me on a major highway because the driver didn't bother parking it properly. Luckily I saw it and stopped before hitting it.
Twice I've seen cars with boats on trailers submerged because of the same slack driving habits. Twice I've seen vehicles roll away when on club runs because the drivers are too ****** lazy to apply the brakes properly. One is a professional truck driver.....
A local bloke had to get his Merc trucked away because of the things transmission getting jammed because he will not apply the handbrake... just shoves it straight into PARK. A woman at work had to have her Mercs transmission fixed for exactly the same reason. I showed her how to park it properly and she was amazed that it didn't make a loud banging when she moved it out of "P" and put it in reverse when doing it my way.
What is up with these people?
Rant over..... for now.

Does that mean you have to climb out of the window, Simon?![]()
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
There was one in the news last week that reportedly happened in 17/18. Woman in a RR Sport didn't put it in park and didn't put the brakes on. It ran over her and she died a couple of days later. Her husband is now suing LR as apparently the pop up gear selector thingo is too hard for people to see. "Not obvious" was the term from memory.
I've spent years saying some people shouldn't own boats, but it's becoming increasingly obvious some people just shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel.
On the other hand, I always leave the D3 in 1st, and it automatically applies the park brake when I take the key out should I forget to do that.
One of the school mums rocked up with a huge facial bruise. She was backing out of a very curved driveway in her new Audi when a car drove past on the far side of the road. The Audi detected it as a pedestrian and slammed on the anchors causing her head to slam into the window. Technology "for our own good" apparently.
perhaps he means the birth is accompanied by the bike🚴🏼*♂️👨🏻*🌾
That's not like the algebra I did at school, Dave.![]()
