    Penrite diesel 5W-40 Price

Has anyone noticed that Penrite diesel 5W-40 has increased enormously in price?

I think I got the last lot for about $72 at a Supercheap sale.

Supercheap want something like $109 and ebay sellers about $114.

I note that Supercheap are now selling 7litres of 10W-40 for $66.

Autobahn have 7litres of 5W-40 on sale (hah) at $76.
Pretty good price rise (about 30%) if they can make it stick I reckon. All at a time of record low oil price

    Penrite diesel 5W-40 Price

$88 for 10L of Diesel 5 at Repco.
    My price is around $66.00

Oil price isn’t the major cost contributor in production, packaging or distribution.

Local Autobarn is usually the cheapest for me but I get the Family/Staff/Mates discount there.

there are an estimated 1.3 billion vehicles driving around the world.

nearly all of them have regular engine oil changes

    lot of money changing hands

where does all the waste oil go?

And a piece of useless trivia re the cost of blending an engine, gear or trans oil.

Guess what the most expensive additive is in your oil?

By mass, it's the dye! (Yes, most all oils are coloured)

"Where does all the waste oil go?".
I reckon a local chippy here uses it as their product tastes and looks like they've cooked in it. They like to advertise it as a "taste of home".......

Just looking at ebay 8..8 litres of Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 full synthetic is $122 with delivery

What is the opinion on that vs Penrite semi synthetic at $108 or at Supercheap $129 ?

Rotella seems to have a good reputation .
