    Why so many Evoques for sale?

    i was browsing Facebook Market place last night ,mainly window shopping for D2 parts.

    However one thing that struck me was the apparent extraordinary number of Evoques for sale in the general Sydney area.( Central coast to Wollongong)

    So today I did a rough count and I may have missed some .

    In total there were 35 Evoques for sale versus 16 or so D3 D4 D5.( because I got jaded after many lines of cars)

    Is it the problems that Evoques suffer ?

    I know two people that have had them.Apart from issues,both said the service and maintenance costs were horrendous.

    They both now drive something else.

    It's the same on the other end of the globe.

    People leased them as a company fashion statement car. Now they are all out of lease and no one wants them so they are for sale much longer than say a mini (which I also find a ridiculous fashion item )

    I've talked a few acquaintances out of buying them. All were attracted by the styling.
    I suggested that they lacked some practicality and they wouldn't like the maintenance costs.

    I read in LRO that many parts are coded to the VIN and you cannot replace them with second hand.

    One example stated was the electric steering rack. Apparently there is no option but to buy a new one from a dealer who then codes it to the VIN>( at enormous cost AFAIR more than $3000)

    This to me is mind boggling.

    Well, maybe that's why there are so many for sale, because that's a damn good reason not to buy one.
