Well, Margaret might have the last word.

“I have been used as a very high-profile person to get a point across,” she said. “I think it is time to move on.”

Tennis Australia chief executive Craig Tiley, speaking at the time, said the sport welcomed diversity, inclusivity and equality, and the recognition of Court was for her tennis achievements only.

Court said she had not been invited to this year’s Australian Open and, with COVID-19 travel restrictions still in place in her native Western Australia, had given no thought to attending.
“I have been used as a very high-profile person to get a point across,” she said. “I think it is time to move on.”

This is from a bloke called Peter Hartcher. SMH International Editor. Makes sense.

Australia Day. It was supposed to be a unifying national day but increasingly it divides. Creative leadership can overcome. Keep it as is to commemorate the advent of British Australia, and strike a new date to celebrate the original Australians.

Australia, as Noel Pearson has put it, has an ancient heritage, a British inheritance and a multicultural achievement. The challenge of our time is to bring Australia’s three parts together as a unique whole. We can choose to make each other our worst enemies. Or we can make each other our greatest allies.

I saw on the news that the White supremists groups were convening in the Grampians in Vic and are becoming a threat. Their numbers are increasing by Recruitment of neo nazis and anti vaxers/conspiracy theory groups.

I always wanted to join a group, ( did Spike say ‘ I would never join a group that would have me ‘) ?

i was too busy looking after my ass to join the flower people in the 60’s

Too busy looking after my bank balance to join the alternative people in the 80’s

Now I am not busy, might just put some kings tents on the Landmark and slip along to the Grampians.

What could be more Australian than a betting scandal. The ghost of our convict past rides again.

What could be more Australian than one Australian of the Year trashing another Australian of the Year.

Australian of the year Grace Tame removed actor Geoffrey Rush’s portrait from the honour wall.

Daily Mail Australia has been told Ms Tame removed Rush’s portrait, folded it up and dumped it on the ground.
I would imagine it would have been well known to Tame no charges were ever brought against Rush, he won a multi million defamation case against the allegations and the subsequent appeal but it seems that's not good enough for the current cancel culture.
