That'd be right. I suspect that the resort must have paid for the the line direct. I'm pretty sure Kerry Packer did that to Ellerston also.

Some of us Defender drivers are young(ish) and handsome with well groomed beards... and you all thought your wives and girlfriends were waivng because it was a defender...

It wont, The t shirts not tucked in so it covers the loops and prevents snagging

My wife says he looks a lot like me....... before I bought a defender (sorry, a 110 (I haven’t progressed that far yet))

Once I got the Land Rover big it all went downhill (according to the wife (I keep telling her I go uphills to)), I’ve grown my hair, grown a beard, turned the six pack into a carton and picked up a few lude phrases, that is definitely going uphill, once I start loosing hair, trim the beard, revert the carton back to a six pack and back to proper English, that’s when I’ve made it over the top of the hill and I’m on my way downhill
I never had RM Williams boots, shirts or jeans, only Rossi DBs, Kmart flannel and black Levis
I’ll probably never graduate to a proper defender and never look like that poser

I’ve seen many a Puma deefers that looks a lot like the Jeep Wranglers (all the off-road kit with 20odd inch wheels and not a spec of mud (or dust)) with the driver looking like the bloke (if that word suits) in the pic

I think the advertising companies have just realised how good the old Land Rovers are at stirring up the Toyota owners and making people look twice
(Or maybe they are just trying to make sales to the hipsters)

The advertising companies have switched on to the iconic look of the defender and realise that brands like to attach themselves to it. There is actually work out there for Defender owners to make a bit of money with their cars. Mine is featured in a couple of add campaigns, one for tourism in west coast Tasmania and another for general Tasmanian travel (which hasn't hit screens yet due to covid.) But keep an eye out for it soon as tourism ramps up again.

It's actually really quite a fun gig. You drive your car to locations, where they might do drone shots and video etc. Then they usually do a heap of stills and they will get the 'talent' (paid actor/model) to pose with car. But, if your lucky you might get in the shot. I'm pretty proud of my hand modelling skills on the wheel!!

If you want to get into it for fun, and think you have a suitable vehicle, email a bio and pics to advertising/ talent agencies. You never know when they might have a client in future that wants a defender.
