There used to be HWP cyclist just over the Qld/NSW border that would stop and book you if you had Qld plates, stopped me once in my FJ Holden which had a Q plate, started to write the ticket for no front No plate when I drew his attention to the Rego papers which stated No of plates Issued ONE He tore up the ticket and stated if he saw me again he would arrest me.

I returned via New England Hwy.

    cheers

P.S. I heard a few years later that he was run over from behind by a Semi, that dragged bike and rider for a few hundred yards.

    Perentie Defected

Way back in about 1987 I was driving through Goulburn heading to Cooma and I saw Perentie Defected two cops on horseback stop a guy for speeding!

I guess from the police academy...

I called it entrapment but was advised by legal people no defence in NSW so I had to pay the fine and take the points!

It's not just Tamworth. I had the same thing happen to me on a trip to Karijini. Just before you got to Northampton going up the hill, and before the bend, were two trucks parked on opposite sides of the road. After the bend there was a camera set up on the left hand side. You guessed it, the trucks blocked the view of the 80 sign. Nice little earner for them I reckon.

He was known as the Terror of the Tweed , I think you are correct about the truck getting him , I do remember something about it.

I just had a Google and found this on FB:

    ‎Tony Murphy‎ to Coolangatta Community of the '50's, '60's & '70's.

who remembers the Terror of the Tweed motorcycle cop? what was his name Dickerson?
‎Tony I am pretty sure that the myth about Dickison being killed is just that. I have a faint memory of him being transferred in the early '70s. I went to Groote Eylandt in the early '70's and to my surprize, I met his brother! They were nothing alike. Where Dickison was aggressive and spiteful, his brother was good hearted and passive. By the was his brother didn't like him either!

I have cursed, and wished harm on, a number of these guys over the years. Now, I feel guilty. Nobody deserves that.

Have you tried the Italian curse `E corn (the Horns)? I have & seen a couple of people off with that one although it may have been purely co-incidental. Can't overdo it as I'm **** scared it might backfire.

Tombie's MiL was on the list (as requested by him) but it obviously hasn't worked or I would have heard Mike rejoicing from afar.

Sorry Mike, but maybe she turned into a nice person after all.
