Tombie's MiL was on the list (as requested by him) but it obviously hasn't worked or I would have heard Mike rejoicing from afar.

Sorry Mike, but maybe she turned into a nice person after all.
I'm sorry, but I cannot find one thing decent to say about what you posted.

Did you have something of relevance to say, or were you just venting?

John, you may not have been back on here (you did disappear for quite a while due to your recent family matter) when Mike briefly discussed his MiL on the open forum & "requested" a "curse" be put upon her. Of course he was joking, just as I was.

Curses like that don't work as you should know so I guess I was just filling in an empty space in the thread.

I apologise if I offended you.

    End of.

Hmm. Maybe it's me who should apologise to you.

    Let's get on, OK?

Offence can't be given, it can only be taken. I took it, out of context. It's done.

Probably for being a Perentie. Most plods don't understand it unless it's a Kia,

I may be going to KLR tomorrow. I will try to remember to ask.

I was talking to a bloke today who told me that a GD (not HWP) sergeant pulled him up and was going to charge him for having an offensive weapon on his Perentie - he had the "gardening tools" on the bonnet and the cop said the axe was an offensive weapon. The Perentie owner escaped being charged because they were wired on and not easily removable - not that the Sgt cared about that but his constable sidekick agreed with the owner and talked the Sgt out of the charge.

The owner has since removed them to avoid further problems.

    Perentie Defected

Has this plod been living in a cave for the last 6 years?
Perenties have been on the road LEGALLY with tools attached since about then.
Doesn’t make much sense. The driver would have to:
    Stop
    Get out
Undo two very tight wing nuts
    And Retrieve the axle

By which time the other party could have walked, run or driven away
What is the difference from tradies carrying axes in the tray of their Ute?
    End of rant

I would have said go for it then taken it to court myself - or at least asked what law says you can't carry an axe in a vehicle? I'd even point out it's secured well unlike if you had one floating about in the back of the car or ute.
