It "May" be a revenue raising exercise But it is only raising revenue from people that have little regard for the rules of the road or for other road users safety and get caught in the act that deserve to be penalised for their unsafe driving habits

Depends on topic. Natural drift in focus occurs depending on the processing requirement of the conversation.

Used to see real looking ply cutouts of a Cop sitting on his bike on the side of the road looking at you approaching on most main main roads heading west out of Sydney in the 60s . Worked well !!! initially but was not long lasting . .

Speed cameras are no more than a voluntary taxation system.

If you speed and get caught you pay the tax, stay within the speed limit and you don't pay, your choice......

Got flashed on Saturday. Not watching the speedo, distracted by the sun and what the traffic up ahead was doing and crept up from 90 to 100 on a long gentle downhill. Can't remember the last time I got a ticket.

    Hi,
Fifty four years of driving and one speeding ticket.
    Grrr!
Highway driving, aproaching a town, foot off throttle and slowing for 90 speed limit ahead.
    Ping!
Passed first 90 sign without seeing it.
    Damn.
Now use a Garmin RV navigator that bongs 150m prior to limit and 3 bongs if I'm still above the limit past the sign.
Damn it is accurate, and so fussy!
It does have some locations wrong, or missing, just for fun and giggles.
    Cheers

But is not always the case as has been shown time and time again - you can be within the speed limit but still pay the tax.

Not really germane to my point, Mike.

Seriously, if a person can't drive and think at the same time maybe they should consider catching the bus.

Shouldn't be any issue with that because it has been stated from on high that it doesn't happen, and therefore can't be applicable.

I've been told that it is also illegal to flash headlights to warn an oncoming driver of a camera and slow him down.
Illegal to make the road safer? can't be true surely???
