My experience with independent Land Rover specialists, is that they're not just mechanics, they're also enthusiasts.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I think you're all reading the chart the wrong way round, so L-R is actually the best in the survey.

Maybe this is the wrong way around as well.

"In a survey conducted by Reliability Index, the Land Rover Defender got the worst score possible. A majority of owners reported that their car needed repairs within the first three years of ownership. Most of these repairs also took more than five days to complete."

Lets hope the new model Deefer is an improvement...

Honest answer from me is no. I like my LRs, warts and all. Would I say they are reliable? Give me a break....

The best way for JLR to move up lists like these would be to say "your D4 motor has broken and it's not long out of warranty? No problem sir, of course we'll fix it for you, and here's a brand new Defender for you to drive while we do it".

Umm,no,the best way would be to not have the issue to start with.

Thats how other brands get the reputation, and continually top the charts.

Sure, but we know that ain't going to happen, at least in the short to medium term. But JLR could keep the customers they do have by supporting them.

As Tombie so correctly points out, ALL cars will have issues. It's how they are dealt with that people remember.

Nope. The fault is the point in survey, not the service quality behind it.

Exactly what the survey doesn’t show - is whether or not the service was good, bad or indifferent.

Personally I’ve never had poor service levels from LR dealers. I have from other brands I’ve dealt with. Including a mouthful of abuse from the Toyota Fleet Group.
