Chasing an Australian Supplier of 1918 Singer Sewing Machine Model 128 Part

    Hello All,

Do you know of any Australian supplier of old Singer sewing machine parts?

My daughter recently bought a model 1918 Singer sewing machine made in 1918. It is missing a Sewing Machine Needle Bar Thread Guide Simanco Part 8338. I found one in the USA and their freight options are only for the USA and Canada.

The part is only worth $7.00 USD so it is not an expensive part. Just trying to get it in Australia seems to be the issue.

Any help in getting a 1918 veteran back in action would be greatly appreciated. Who knows it could have been used right here in Australia to make uniforms for "The War to End All Wars?

    Kind regards
    Lionel

    Hello All,

An update on the 1918 Singer sewing machine and its missing part. I tracked down a supplier for the part in America. The package it arrived in was at least 100 times larger than the part itself. I packed it into a smaller box and sent it off in the post to my daughter in Victoria. The new part fit onto the machine without any dramas. For the first time in who knows when the machine spun into life and actually made a garment.

    Kind regards
    Lionel

I think a lot of us are cheered up when we know the outcomes of problems like this one!
