There is a rug in the laundry that ours just plows into and bunches up but it's quite light. All the others it manages to negotiate. Ask your Wife if she prefers old carpets or the extra time she'll have by not having them and getting a robot... [bigrolf][thumbsupbig]

Very timely, I was joking about a robot vacuum on weekend, as our dog is a malting machine and we vacuum daily

They work great for keeping the fur tumbleweeds down. If you just want the vacuuming functionality see which ones have the largest bin in them or one that will self empty when full. The T8 doesn’t self empty when full but just at the end of a clean. This is still ok as if it fills up before the whole house is done you can set it to clean one area at a time so it will empty after each area - it just means you’d need to program it’s. but differently.

A friend in Brisbane had one and their cat learned how to flip it over onto its back.

We have three in our house. It's the mop and vacuum one

It takes a bit of prodding to get started, can slack off in the middle of the job & makes a strange moaning noise a lot of the time.
The brand is McQuillen, it's 15 years old & the model is Number 3 son.
I get an error occasionally, something about me being on it's back?

Sounds like the “automatic” lawnmower I have

After deliberating on the battery variety manual mower and speaking to people who had experienced them tackling 3’ high (well maybe “ not ‘) buffalo, I just bought a husky easy start 4 stroke

This is where the automatic part comes in
A swift swing of the boot and some loud and obnoxious words from my mouth
It’s becoming automatic for my two well behaved boys to take it in turns to push it around the backyard

Even the missus was impressed as it only took her talking about taking away the controllers for their x play drive gismos once

Still has to put up with the grunts and moans but it’s a start
