    PeeWee Problems

    Like many of areas of Aust I have Pee Wees living in my residential environment.

    As Pee Wees do, they crap all over my car and look at themselves in the rear vision mirrors and there is not much I can do about that other than park in the garage.

    However I have a bigger problem with the windows of my house where the large glass doors open out the the verandah. All day long the Pee Wees come and land on the furniture, crapping all over the outdoor furniture and railings and constantly launching themselves at what I assume is their reflection in the glass doors - which they hit with a loud thud. This goes on all day and is becoming quite annoying.

    Has anyone got a solution to chasing them away - used to be just one visit at 4.00pm but now is all day.

    I was thinking of printing some of these up on A4 and sticking them on the inside of the glass in an effort in scaring them away but not sure.

    Once upon a time I had ducks and chooks. And a veranda. The inevitable happened and they started following me back to the door. I made a life size cut out of the Swamp Harrier Hawk (which were plentiful in the area and preyed on both if possible) in light plywood and roughly painted it the same colour and suspended it under the veranda where the breeze made it move. End of problem from most of the birds.

    The few that cottoned on ended up roasted or curried.

    I thought you had a small motorbike, with a problem.
    Toy snakes, strategically placed, will deter the birds in double quick time.

    No Pee Wees here, only Magpies crapping, but don't mind them as the keep sparrows and Indian minor birds away. The cockatoos are a problem, one used to land at the kitchen window and look in and watch us.
    Then the pervert would start ripping timber off our window. When in the mood the maggies would have a melee with cockys. We've had plovers and ducks in the back yard after heavy rain and it get pools of water. The Kookaburras had their eyes on BBQs when we used to have them.
