No one is saving you from yourself. The High Court won't assist. Are you really going to not go into restuarants, coffee shops, hotels etc ever again because the mandatory requirements aren't going away any time soon (if ever)? What if the vax requirements extend to visiting hospital patients (even your own child)?

At what point do you accept that being part of society means consequences- namely giving up some personal ideals for the good of wait for it, the greater population (ie as determined by the people we have voted in to actually make the hard decisions for the greater good)?

If you truly believe in not being told what to do why not get serious and take off your seatbelt, do some drink driving, do 100 kph in the school zone? This is not aimed at anyone in particular, just all those people who are anti Covid19 vaxxers and is my opinion.

I just got home from a landcare Xmas BBQ, all attendees had to be double vaxxed.

The guy who lives with his family over the road is usually manning the BBQ at these annual events and is a main player in the group.

He'd given me a wacko anti-vax spiel earlier in the year so it was no surprise that he wasn't in attendance, though his wife was.

Gonna be hard for these people as time goes on.

I realise that common sense and logic would suggest that you are right, but you have seriously underestimated his determination to maintain his opinion.

He can't even see that many of the things he says are contradictory. Even though he insists that the virus is only killing the old and infirm or that all the deaths were caused by something else, he spent $100 importing some Ivermectin from India to protect himself from a virus that doesn't exist and wouldn't` affect him even if it did exist.

Unless you have had a long conversation with someone who is really committed to the opinion he has, then you really couldn't understand how far he would go to continue to believe that this whole thing is a hoax designed to take our freedoms away from us.

91 % in ICU here in VIC are those types. One who happily lived, was on the phone with me yesterday- I am amazed with my non medical ignorance that the hospital let them out!!! That said more than a few with low impact Delta feel I told you it was a hoax are about. Reinfections inbound data is now the hoax apparently[bighmmm]


What I am watching is oddly not here any more. The UK, South Africa, USA, EU.... are all well underway with the Big O. It has snuck in to China now. Viruses have no respect and the BIG O is clearly with its reinfection going to be a huge issue for the vaccinated. China like Australia managed to tame all Covid prior to Delta version. I suspect covid Zero in China will be a Dodo shortly.

On other news a pfizer pill is showing strong signs of been a possible treatment option.

Your reference to omicron as " the Big O" is somewhat amusing, considering that the word "omicron" literally means "small O" in Greek (it is the name of a Greek letter ο, almost indistinguishable from o).

Blimey! Most folk I have spoken to here don't concern themselves with that "freedom" angle although it did seem a possibility in early days, just that we are not familiar with Lock downs of any sort & so life goes on but heeding Govt advice, but I can see how that would affect folk in the Eastern & Western states. Not the NT or SA. The East coast has certainly made a welter of freedoms & the latest I read is SEQ people & others who normally only live a few kms from the border & are still living like "refugees" in cars, shade tents etc in NSW & are not permitted to cross the border. That is real loss of freedom & you wouldn't think we all lived in this wide brown land called Australia.

In a nutshell I do not trust Labor Govts.


There will need to be a helluva lot of soul searching when this is all over as it will one day, one way or another.


A National "Handbook" will need to be introduced of who does what, when, how, whose responsibilities all these things are etc etc, but it probably won't be, based on the last two years performances of Govts in all states (inc. SA) & Canberra ready for the next calamity that will strike us.



I guess quite a few chapters will be devoted to "How to Duckshove/Handpass problems to others".
