    My team is down ...

Had our regular Monday morning conference call today - of the 7 others on the call two were recovering from Covid separately contracted during or after Christmas and there was another who has a housemate with Covid, was feeling sick themself, but couldn't get a PCR or RA test to confirm what it was (someone on the call organised to get them a RAT). So, out of 8 people on the call two were positive (25%) and one was a possible (if so, 37.5%) Interesting times.

Funnily enough, there's no pressure to return to the office this month .....

The chemist behind our offices had just got boxes of RATs in, so they are out there.

Had a Pfizer third after 2 AZ ( second 4/7/2021). Our local clinic had a specific Pfizer clinic on Sunday .

Feeling a bit RS today as well as headache and tendon soreness and a sore arm.

wife and I booked in early December and 9/1/2022 was first date .
Done now so should be effective by next Sunday.
Just got email that grandson 14 has positive RAT now waiting for full test.
Wife's golf friends got it but didn't know until RAT positive, now negative .

Just in time by the sound of it. Already Scomo has turned it on it's head & now no-one/Pharmacists seems to know what the hell is happening & who pays who.

Is NSW putting up this sort of money for health on a per capita basis?

The backpacker got in from QLD which at that stage wasn't deemed a health threat, He simply got off the aircraft and didnt do anything illegal.

NSW and VIC are learning to live with this virus simply because they allowed it to get completely out of hand and don't have a choice in the matter they have also reduced the COV19 safety measures at the same time and if you think that this progessive thinking then you are deluded.

WA is waiting until there is at least a 90% vaccination rate for those 12+ in the State and when they do open it won't be open slather like some of the other States, This is progressive thinking
How long does it take to get to 90% vaccination? We got there a couple of months ago but the Gold Standard Premier thinks its OK to go slow while businesses go under families are separated and denying the inevitable covid case numbers like an ostrich with its head in the sand seems to be his only policy option. Now that's delusional. But feel free to vote him in again next time

the 1%is racking up hospitals. Not pretty as we know the R rate is huge and testing is not working at all well in PCR or rat testing in capacity or supply. GP clinics now getting swamped with both booster and 5-12 and rotten Government types still forcing other hordes on to us Next ***** that say call to check if vaccines have turn up or other useless pointless crap like that is getting a direct serve from this black duck, Nurse is down, One staff expected back had family member at home test positive so out for at least another 7 days or more on top of the last week plus. Just blew off two days of Doctors appointments to replace the nurse with a Doctor. Being down one Doctor already just piled the pressure on every one left working. Got to breath a little better today so on the upside I found a few dozen mistakes in the 3rd dose bookings allowing me to bring forward a heap. I was going to do a big weekend. With nurse down it might be the following weekend which will take the lid off our pressure cooker perhaps.

Unless of course some genius adds another layer as usual I did beg to bring the delivery from 28th forward- that's impossible apparently. The Rulz are made to make it easy for some- Not the people on the sharp end. Ambos got overwhelmed here last night, Suspect the costs in lives is about to crank up and not always from covid but clearly attributable to it

A funeral in the Western Districts got a NSW type who is not positive- DOH

Several hundred post ago, when this pandemic has hardly got started. one of our veteran members pointed out that during the 1919 outbreak, there were severe economic consequences of large numbers of sick staff and a reluctance of the general public to go out and spend for fear of being infected.

At the time there was a tendency amongst some people (not just on AULRO) to assume that if we didn't have lockdowns, then businesses wouldn't suffer at all.

It seems that the current problems with supply and with staff shortages are evidence that the same problems that occurred in 1919 are developing now.
