I think I once read someone refer to it as an RA test and it just didn't sound right even though it is correct.

I think that it's probably revealing that this has also been worrying me.

To give other examples, related to how foreigners deal with Japan: the "Arakawa River" is the "Ara River River" and "bento box" is "lunch box box".

That has been the experience of my various in-laws in the UK. The kids need to do a RAT at least weekly for school, and the others have used them topically. All positive RAT have been confirmed with a PCR, however 2 negative RAT (out of quite a lot) have also seen a positive PCR.

I’m feeling for my wife…….must have drawn the short straw

Reading the media and government web sites you’d nearly believe everybody is shaking this in 7 days.

13 days since she first experience symptoms and 11 days since positive RAT and she still has symptoms .

Received the PCR result last night from the test done on the 8th day.

On the 7th and 8th day she was felling 100%

More than a few get a major KICK at about 20 day mark after almost cruising with Covid till then. I (we) all hope your wife recovers fully! The artist from byron bay is a example of that time frame in a very bad outcome. It was a few weeks for Mr Craig Ruddy (RIP).

With more and more walking about with Covid right now it is almost expected we will have multiple Covid exposures at work now.
Vax, masks and a bit of distance is needed. Gym and enclosed spots are off for me until this resolves. My ears - OUCH having a huge head has always saved my hats. Not so good with PPE made for more normal sized bollards.

My mum and dad seem to be recovered. I think the 3 doses they had likely to be a main factor. 2 AZ before July 2021 and Moderna for mum and Pfizer 3rd dose booster for dad.

Of interest immuno-compromised are able to have a 4th dose 4 months after there 3rd dose. That bit took me some time to have several people told me that. Honestly I thought they were confused re terminology of 'booster' and '3rd dose' which we are using often now for the 3rd shot for the over 18 year olds. We are also giving '3rd dose' to people recovered from Covid 6 weeks after they have recovered. Generally that is 7 weeks from diagnosis if Symptoms all go away inside the week! A lot of the Double Vaxed with Covid are recovered in 3-4 days and very few are in hospital happily.

My 93yo mum is due here booster so she rang her Doctor yesterday morning and was booked in for today. Now this is a large medical practice that also has 2 permanent nurses on staff to handle the mundane stuff that does not need doctors. They have been running the vaccination programme for the practice.

Yesterday afternoon Mum gets a call back, saying they have had to cancel her booster appointment as the practice has now decided not to continue with the vaccine programme.

I believe this is a result of the Government reducing rebates for doctors doing boosters as against what they were doing for "vaccinations". Certainly my own doctor practice which is just two doctors and one receptionist, never offered vaccinations as my doctor claimed, there was too much red tape, the demand on the practice would be too much and the financial return was not there - the main concern was that dealing with covid vaccinations would take away the quality of service available to "normal" patients.

The Gov added a few crumbs with a mbs item 93666 (Fee: $11.75 Benefit: 85% = $10.00 )for Doctors. It is very true re RED tape. I order and get 2 or 4 separate deliveries in the next fortnight. I have to report them each with about dozen very silly questions each with a slow DROP DOWN box for yes/no. It would be easy to just add all of those IF the highly unlikely event occurred.

The weekly vax report is by 9pm each Friday. If it was by Monday Afternoon for the week prior I suspect a lot less overtime would be paid! Or in my case unpaid overtime

Several Medical Practices around me did not at all. Some as a silly as we are. Many Chemists are helpfully adding option yet they get ripped off with the same work I do yet for LESS $ which is rude plus i think as they have possibly more disturbance than Doctors do. The extra $10 is appreciated as it was costing me money before most of the time or break even only as I am salary not wages. Doctors or practices do IF accredited get PIP which was a few $ only if Both 1st and 2nd dose was given. That saw a lot of places refuse to give only a 2nd dose. (not me)

It your in any doubt about insane bureaucracy
    1. The MBS iFee: $11.75 Benefit: 85% = $10.00 means several things to several people
    2. I have restricted 2nd dose only kids not due to PIP $ but as the vials are 10 doses. One kid added to our ten 1st doses would see 9 doses in the bin!
    3. The CVAS weekly reports, delivery acceptance and Vax ordering is a perfect example of needless inefficiency
    4. The PIP$ required Accreditation- I did not have time to do practice Accreditation so pip is

PITA for everyone. Whine over Wine scheduled- Just kidding. Have to be after 9pm Friday night to all those bloody reports

It is ATAGI so national RACGP link as I hate the useless ATAGI web layout almost as much as the gov vax -CVAS rubbish

Called 4th booster. Suspect most of our clients will be feb to June before the 4 months is up. Damm me for using our excess Pfizer as a about to go in the bin if not used in November 2021 3rd dose for a few hundred happy people

Vic Hospitals all CODE BROWN- pooing our pants? Just heard a nurse chatting about some IDIOTS calling 000 claiming chest pain to get a priorty very fast ride to our very overworked hospitals to get a PCR or RAT test- then admitting they do not have Chest Pain The Fools surprise me often - more fool me! Two Covid likely walked in for "a medical certificate" at some location! PHONE CONSULTATIONS people! OMG. I need a run and a long one now! Forest Gump Here I come- Trans Australia might be needed. Just kidding 10km is my pups limit at the moment.

There has to be some form of penalty available for that, something like "making a false belief" : WA teen volunteer firefighter admits lighting fires

"He also pleaded guilty to seven charges of making a false belief, when he called triple zero and falsely reported fires that did not exist."

I need a run and a long one now!
I'll put the beer in the fridge.
