Went in to town yesterday to get my second dose. Very quiet, I went only to Aldi, Coles, and the vaccination clinic. I don't think I saw anyone not wearing a mask, and almost all were wearing it properly. My first trip to town since 9/8.

And feeling a lot better this morning than I did the morning after the first dose. Basically, nothing. Not even a noticeably sore arm - and the injection was totally painless at the time, too.

One thing I did note - my beard is noticeably "untrimmed" - it has not had a trim since the start of the pandemic (does not quite reach my waist yet)*. However, I did note (sticking out below masks) a number of beards that have been rather obviously trimmed by someone who was not a professional - I think leaving it grow looks better!

    * When the first lockdown started last year and I could not get a haircut or beard trim, I thought "I'll just let it grow until the pandemic is over, see how it goes". And the pandemic is still not over. I have had a couple of haircuts during the breaks between lockdowns, but have not touched the beard. Lacking a moustache cup, I have also trimmed the moustache fairly regularly.

Similarly if you were to break down the moving average for any of the states individual age brackets, you would see that the older age brackets would reach the targets first and the younger ones last because of the staggered rollout. Put them all together and you have the single state number that falls in between.
Yes but the ‘moving average’ is meaningless in terms of the whole country reaching 70-80% fully vaccinated. 90% in Canberra but only 60% in Sydney and 30% in Broken Hill does not equal 70% vaccinated except in Canberra.

Yes Covid really brings out the Beardy Weirdies! My beard has gone wild! Maybe I’ll have to sell the Defender for a Harley! …Nah, Beardy Weirdies drive Landys.

Yes but treating the country as a whole entity, it does. That's all this means. I take your point about the Australia dates being meaningless in terms of freedoms Australia wide though, it may provide some inputs into Federal Government decision making.

Got my extra 60 vaccinated today 12 year olds and up all rolled up and took thier shot. A huge amount of thanks as I am not open on Saturday arvo at all normally.

Several VCE students and all sub 40 year olds for the event caused a bit by miss communication really about the 16-39 year olds.

At a guess I put my hand in my pocket to do it given the $29ish rebate and roughly $250 per hour real cost. Happily killed that number by not paying a employee a cent

Welcome to the Fair Work Ombudsman website and lawyers can go into over drive wasting their time if wanted but I refuse to pay myself a cent for it Staff need cost well over $150 per hour and will be paid

    FYI 29*60 is $1740
math's is fun. 8 am to 4pm. Vaccines all done by 3pm yet we had a person to look after for an hour after that. More than 1/2 goes to doctors, the staff cost is $1200ish for the day and the booking processes yesterday- Do not tell the boss

Being a reformed forensic/reconstructive accountant has its draw backs if making money is the goal? Happily being a reformed diver or runner is much more important. One of the kids who over heard me saying I was happy with Vicpol using pepper guns at some ferals in Melbourne last week as I want to go to visit my dying mum, She added she felt the selfish people delaying our freedom should go back to school to revise science as they also interrupted her return to School.

Get a vaccine please. The Kids seem a lot more sensible than many people I hear in the news.

Edit- I ran 5km after work- It hurt- I will do 10 in the morning. 42.2 here I come

My beard is also doing well, although it has been tidied up.

I had the same experience as you with AZ - a mild headache after the first dose and nothing after the second dose.
My wife had the opposite with Pfizer - nothing after the first dose, but was a bit off for a day after the second dose.

NSW is doing fairly well in the vaccination race because it received 500,000 of the 1 million extra Pfizer doses from Poland, which is fair enough as it has the biggest need at the moment.

All the states are jabbing people as fast as possible, but they can only give vaccines if they have them. They are all clamouring to get more.

Another factor is about two-thirds of vaccines go directly to GPs, not through state governments. Some states have more GPs than other states.

The only thing the state vaccination rate comparison tells us is where the federal government is sending the vaccines.

Well the beard thing is moot around here.
    Clean shaven policy applies.
