My two bob on the "vaccinated patrons only" thing is that it will last a month or two and quietly disappear. NSW appears to be gearing up with integrating the vaccination certificate in their app, although I agree that it has some shortcomings and potential (IT) security issues. I reckon that it is being used as a big carrot to get people to be vaccinated in order to resume life, NSW is already at 85% first dose an that will magically turn into 85% double vaccinated in weeks. It might be that at 90 or 95% double vaccination the check ins will be quietly dropped as a waste of time and resources, meaning that there will be effectively no checking of vaccination status at most venues.
From the carrot perspective it certainly made my 18yo daughter ensure that she was fully vaccinated before the middle of next month when pubs will open to to vaccinated patrons so from that perspective it is working on her (and her mates) very effectively.
I have some issues with using Singapore as an example of how "living with covid " is failing. It seems that their government is unwilling to accept any increase in cases and are reacting to case numbers rather than hospitalisation rates to determine their response. This article
Living, partying and travelling with COVID. Aussie expats shed light on their summer of freedom - ABC News shows a very different experience in Germany where their population is only 62% vaccinated and they are effectively open with some controls. Australia is looking at a 90% vaccination rate by Christmas, I can't see how we could get any closer to normal than that.
