Can't comment on Canberra, but it is alleged that a Dubbo local went to Western Sydney for supplies, got arrested on the way back, spent the weekend in Bathurst gaol, was bailed on the Monday, and went back to the rellies he was living with in Dubbo who sent him to go home to Walgett, which is where he was when the covid test he had on being locked up the previous Friday came through positive on the Wednesday. And before any government action was taken there was funeral on the Friday in Wilcannia that had mourners from all over western NSW - including Walgett and Dubbo. I think the restrictions came in on the Saturday, by which time it was too late.

NSW clearly is the gold standard on first vaccination rates with 71.49% fully vaccinated, although the ACT is still leading on first doses at 95.99% or is that not what you meant ? [biggrin]

ATAGI ADVICE Third COVID-19 vaccine as part of primary course for severely immunocompromised individuals Today, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) released a statement recommending a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine as part of the primary course in individuals who are severely immunocompromised. The third primary dose is intended to address suboptimal or non-response to the standard two-dose schedule in individuals aged 12 and over who are severely immunocompromised (conditions are listed at the end of this bulletin). The third dose aims to maximise the level of immune response in these individuals to as close as possible to the general population. Individuals with an unlisted condition should only be considered for a third dose where the treating physician has assessed the patient as having a similar level of severe immunocompromise to the identified conditions. ATAGI recommends that the interval for the third dose between 2 to 6 months after the second dose of the vaccine. A minimum interval of 4 weeks may be considered in exceptional circumstances (e.g. outbreaks, anticipated intensification of immunosuppression).

Sounds a bit like the UK where it seems one can buy their Knighthood etc (nudge nudge wink wink) so it seems to me with a bent system like that Awards of any type become worthless.

Indoor's old Dad rcd the Military MBE (Member of the British Empire) for service during the Normandy Landings but now it appears cheffy types et al get it for doing ****all because enough of their mates nominate them. The system has lost it's real value imho as it will in Oz. Apparently the Mil. version has a better award value than the civvy version not necessarily monetary.

One female chef/cook actually wore the regalia in her TV Cookery Progs. Looked ostentatious.

Who else noticed David Beckham wearing his full sized gong in civvies at the wedding of HRH Prince William & Kate? It looked well OTFT when as I understand he should have worn the Miniature supplied with the full sized gong.


He still is awaiting for a Knighthood but he gets cut out when ever the Honors list is published so I expect he will be waiting a bloody long time.

This is exactly why my kids had their first dose yesterday, before everything opens up.

News suggested the kids kindly trying Pfizer in the US may see 5-11 year olds approved to have it by xmas. I think it is a little smaller dose than 12 year and up get.

We have had multiple exposures recently. Happily only at the front and when no one else was in the area. Review of CCTV and happily sensible changes to exposure rulz now (VIC rulz here for Medical places) This meant we could still do all the vaccines scheduled. I did sent one staff home after a test to be safer the last time and tested every one the time before.

The case numbers are rising and the odd bit I think is Health Dept is telling positive cases to isolate at home even if several other people at the home are vaccinated.

Korea's way seems a bit smarter to me. Isolate away from hospital and not at home ( In this case two kids did end up with Mum)

The hospitalization,Intensive care and death rates are much lower that a year and a 1/2 ago when none of us had vaccines. Vic intensive care is maxing out yet still and we have not seem the Peak apparently. I wish we had a live fed to intensive care for the vax negative types.

A person in covid isolation told me he/she knows of dozens of young kids with heat issue after a vaccine ?? (pericarditis) No one in the house is vaccinated.

I am now involved with well over 3000 vaccines given and including 1000+ sub 60 and many 12- 17 year olds, I do not know a single case of it myself. It can happen I hear. I am not a medical person so it is just a observation of course. I don't see how both observations can be true in our very local area. mods might choose to move me to conspiracy theories if its me :)

My family has booked a restaurant in the country for a well over due dinner for a few weeks time. Looking forward to that.
Melbourne marathon was supposed to be running now- today !!!! Happily deferred for a few more weeks as well. Doubt I could run 42 today, I would have run then walked if not. A covid positive for me as a few more weeks to train and physio recovery may see me run the whole distance.
