Someone obviously understands what is important to Australians and understands the difference between Americans and Australians.

In America, the incentive to get vaccinated in some states was a million dollar lottery.

In Australia, the incentive was to wear your team colours to the vaccination location so that your team's supporters got more vaccinations than supporters of rival teams.

It is obvious that some "authorities" are not pulling their weight. Nothing new there then.
I will wait to chat with a person in CVAS in Canberra tonight before I work out who is and who isn't. Its honestly tough for everyone involved with competing demand and conflicts everywhere. My big hate word at the moment is Sorry- I cannot help.

My multiple grumbles are not helpful with out providing a option or resolution I think. The CVAS people will know there is a conspiracy as my request is multiplying as other people in my unfortunate role find out my reasonable request and how I did it.

Not claiming to be the first to try and help in any breath I take Des. The person I am waiting to chat to did have a visit from General JJ (General JJ Frewen) I wish we heard a lot more from JJ or his spokesperson and a lot less from everyone else on vaccine supply details!

As a I’ve said before this thread is not political, it has nothing to do with party politics. I would be critiquing any government of the day that was performing so poorly in a public health crisis.

You’ve made your views perfectly clear. My perspective is equally valid.

Why don’t you just disagree? I disagree with you.
Not sure what was personal to be honest and yes - as a moderator I am allowed to post my opinion here believe it or not. Covid Mk ll

Ian’s comment on me being a bit blunt is right and I make no apology for that to be honest.

The bit about pushing your political agenda was with my Mod hat on - I only said what a lot of others were thinking.

Public panic is also not in the interests of a democracy.

People are a selection of all types of fools and can be extremely finicky creatures. Best that a lot of what goes on in the world isn’t made openly known (can be found through FOI if you know what to ask).

Only need to look at FB to see examples of it every day. Or at helicopter parents etc. all prime examples of paranoia through information they cannot effectively process or risk assess.

Spot on - because the great unwashed often blows into craziness when unable to process information in a balanced manner.

That’s where conspiracies come from Covid Mk ll

Just got home to be told I was an exposure site last Saturday during vaccines

SMS to all staff and Doctors. Setting up for remote consultations, computer access from doctors home, getting computer key and my mobile phones to doctors in progress and several hundred incoming phone calls and sms from staff, doctors, nurse........ Covid info line was nice and gave me the HOT LINE. The PUBLIC HEALTH UNIT.

I called and had it to my ear for 20 minutes, on speaker phone while I had a shower- I had run home from work Before the Hot line answered the exposed person gave me the data showing she was only exposed at work today not when getting a vaccine on Saturday That was an hour of my life I will recall for a while. The Hotline was not hot

A text to my computer guy got the rumor mill going quickly as he was also booked for a family group vaccine soon

I did not over expose myself No Beer in the house- DOH I mean this could be a conspiracy yarn!!

Pst This is not doing well "NSW's Delta death toll reached 100 and more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases were recorded for the fifth consecutive day as Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the state had done "very well"."

There has to be a balance struck, and I really don't know where that is because I don't have all the information, but the general "**** you, I'm alright Jack" attitude which is keeping the R > 1, I find personally concerning.
I think that the actual issue is that there's a concern that people have lockdown fatigue - there's certainly been some pretty vocal commentary in the press and social media (particularly about the kids playgrounds), but as per usual I'd query how representative that is. I was out today and it was rare to see anyone unmasked. A few of my neighbours are technically breaching by having a mate drop in for a chat - but they're outside, not inside - and others appear to be away on the weekends. So, generally compliance is pretty good.

Question is, if we can't get Delta to zero, can we have it circulating in the community without going into an exponential increase? If we can't remove Delta we can't stay in lockdown for the next year.

Oh, and I lost my job three weeks ago, after just 7 months in the new role, and they said "put it down to Covid".

Edit: I should add that I was offered a new role today ... which I'll be accepting, funnily enough.
