    boosters/3rd Doses 5 Months

    Just at work adjusting the processes for the 5 month (or less) boosters/3rd Doses. I suspect fast movers will get it at the Chemists with Moderna vaccine COVID-19 vaccine. That seems smart to me and I may do that one myself after the silly old bugger Novax drug trial.

    Chemist just called begging for me to share excess stock. I have no excess. We all tossed a lot in the bin two weeks ago. The UK and other news suggest the fast movers we gave boosters/3rd Doses to a few weeks ago to use a lot of that now expired vax was a smart move.

    The ATGI advice it is safe at 2 months is a pita. We knew that, the misinformation it 'had to be' six months was a big topic a few weeks ago and a huge distraction.

    On the phone to see if we could get an additional VAX order pre xmas That just Failed - it disconnected as they are unsurprisingly to busy trying to answer the calls from every Chemist and Doctors involved in the Vax roll out.

    Vaccine hubs are suggested as they do not have the two week ordering cycle the plebs like us have!

    Sounds like they use the same switchboard as COLES Home Delivery, AGL & a whole heap of others. "Times up", click.

    Vaccine hubs in Brisbane, and I think , all over QLD, are walk in for boosters, but I will be corrected on that. Disturbing news from the UK suggests AZ becomes less effective after 15 weeks , and the UK government has declared boosters will be given after 3 months. that story here;

    The news from the UK is that all become less effective against Omicron but AZ becomes zero effective - so it looks like most of us have been sold a pup.

    The good news is that a shot of PZ or Moderna brings all, including AZ, back up to the 70s effectiveness. If true this true then why aren't us who have had AZ not getting booster shots now as those with the AZ vaccine are basically defenceless against Omicron.

    Just repeating what learned physicians were saying on the news this afternoon.

    I don' think that's what it's saying:

    Scientists in the UK say a booster shot appears to offer good protection against the Omicron variant but two doses it not enough to stop you catching it.

    An early analysis found receiving a third dose prevented about 75 per cent of people getting any COVID symptoms, the BBC reports.

    There's a difference between AZ not preventing a break-through infection vs not being effective at all, so it's not "zero effective" - it still prevents illness and death, which is in any case all that the vaccines ever promised to do.

    I guess it was to be expected. NSW is entering a new wave of COVID cases , say experts. They say case numbers aren't the worry, but hospitalisations and numbers in ICU are. Today NSW reported 840 cases and one death. The Premier and CHO will be having a press conference today about this development, but this was expected to happen.

    Norway , unless effective measures are taken, the nation of 5.4 million risks having between 90,000 and 300,000 daily COVID cases. Sales of alcohol have been banned in bars & restaurants. Yikes! Boris warns of a "tsunami of infections " is coming, and warned everyone to get a booster after the first death to Omicron globally of the variant. Not what we wanted to hear.

    Had my booster today at Kipparing. Walk in, took 42 minutes from go to whoa, and that's counting the 15 minute sit down before leaving . The staff are wonderful, very pleasant.

    NSW has what is being claimed as having the highest transmission event any where in the World this year, after 600 people attend a night club in Newcastle, and so far 200 have been infected, most likely with Omicron. From Wednesday, unvaccinated people will be free to mingle with everyone at pubs, clubs, gyms and shops across NSW. Good luck with that.
