I feel so boring - I go to work, Woolies a couple of times a week on the way home and a Bunnings trip every fortnight or so.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
Not making excuses but what’s the point in checking in?
1) The government says you have to be in close contact for 4+ hours… I can’t ever remember spending that much time in any shop…
2) The government doesn’t list exposure sites anymore - as far as I can tell?
3) If you are fully vaxxed, wearing a mask, social distancing and spending less that 4 hours in a shop - technically the government wouldn’t contact you anyway?
Just asking - as the rules seem to change quite frequently…

That is about the same with me Safeway once a week, in and out with in 1/2hr, chemist when I need to get meds for Mario, and post office once a day if we have any orders. No trips out to any other shops.
That's what I have been doing for the last 2 and bit years. The first time we saw our oldest son this(2021) Christmas after 2 years, and our youngest son who is in Japan we haven't seen him since he left Aust in July 2019.
Now with this new one I try to even cut it down more. I can not afford to catch this, as Mario is worried what would happen to him We both have had our booster shot on the 15th Jan. I think everyone is tired from this covid
Yes Heather, that's why the responsible amongst us get vaccinated, check in and take all the other precautions, asked of us, to protect the likes of Mario and others at greater risk.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
In Victoria you should still be contacted if you have checked in and there was a COVID case there at the same time.
“Checking in helps people know if they were at a venue at the same time as a positive COVID case and reminds people to monitor their health and get tested if they have any COVID symptoms,” a spokesperson said.
Sounds like in Victoria, if you have been at a place which has had a COVID case, unless you have been in contact with them for 4 hours (like amongst workers) then even though you won’t be considered a close contact you could still get notified. It is then a prompt to encourage you to get a COVID test if you have symptoms.
More important now is to be fully vaccinated (including booster), wearing a mask, and keeping your distance from people.
Contact tracing though is still very important for workers.
The real question is - would you still prefer to know if you have been in contact with someone with COVID so you can decide what you should do?
I can’t ever remember spending that much time in any shop…
I can, once. It was a lunch shop & I had to ask, as you do, "Excuse me, am I invisible?"
No, certainly not 4 hours but when you are hungry it felt like it was.
Nowadays I let my feet do the talking & bugger off out.
