yeah that's what I do most of the time.

Funnily enough FS is harder to fly than the real thing because you don't get the same sensory feedback and all round vision.

The Hawk simulator they have here is a beaut. It's sort of like an Omnimax theatre with a cockpit sitting in the middle. When I had a go in that it was pretty realistic apart from the lack of Gs. Managed to shoot down a couple of MiGs and do two landings, including an instrument approach. Obviously missed my calling!

If you had brought that last weekend the ruts would have been much smoother, plus we could have had aerial reconnasiance for the lost tracks

    Full marks to Farnarkle!

It's MDC or miniature detonating cord. When you eject the cord shatters the canopy about 0.2 sec before you are blown through it.

There is also a handle inside to pull which sets it off independently in case you need to exit in a hurry on the ground.

You have to be a bit careful not to knock the wrong thing, the back seat passenger can turn things off and the pilot in the front can't override it. Interesting design.

My X1/9 can pull 6gs no problem, especially with me driving it. LOL

Maybe you get your mates with this cute little thing to fly to Canberra and drop a few bombs on a few bitchin' moanin' pollies.

    Cheers, GQ
