    Hamburgers.....

I used to enjoy a whopper.....have the ingredients changed and have my hands grown bigger? I can hold it one hand now.

And...it will be quite some time before I eat another one.....if ever.

There are good burgers though , my favourite is Lyle's burger with the lot from the Marree roadhouse.....I think I have recommended it here before.

There is also a very good burger joint called Longboards under Q1 at Surfers Paradise , Gold Coast. Don't tell me it's too far for you mexicans....over 600,000 of you have managed to come here since xmas day.....

My younger son knows where all the good grub places are if we are out somewhere but that will cease for a while in a couple of weeks as his firstborn is due...me grampa #2

Anyone else have a recommended burger place?

Hard to find a good hamburger place anymore, just like a good butcher.

The one we go to every so often is in the main street of St George, when in town.

If you’re in Melbourne- Andrew’s Hamburgers in Albert Park then stroll down to the beach getting a Jocks Ice Cream on the way.

I much prefer to eat the hamburgers that I make myself, It isn't rocket science turning a bit of mince into hamburger patties
God only knows what goes into a hungry jacks burger But it is pretty imaginative of them to be able to turm beef into those tasteless carboardy things they call hamburgers

Best I have had in years was from a cool Middle eastern family who rock the bugger place here in a very cool way

    UP THE ROAD

Yet to consider " dim sim and a potato cake are the star elements of Easeys' Motz Madness burger, which has just been crowned the winner of Victoria's best burger in the Litt Burger of Origin competition.
The dish also features a double serving of fried onions, sliced cheese and vegetables
    "

Just a bit out there for me

Having been buying hello fresh there are often different mixes for hamburgers/rissoles to suit the food theme.

Always , egg , breadcrumbs, then mumbai /aussie/lemonpepper/sri lankan/garlic herb/chile/onion spices then carrot/tomato/beetroot/mint/plus all in a choice of lamb/pork or beef or veggie protein.

Then you have the choice of breads/salads/cheese/egg.

    really why would you buy?

but,,,, you can choose all/any of above at Longboards and perhaps Grill'd

Haven't made one for a while but if its patty taste you are after, the not so secret secret is fatty chunky mince (not fine and not lean) and salt made into patties (nothing else), into the fridge overnight and on a very hot grill with ghee on it and squash down flat so ghee and juices come up through gaps in the chunky bits. Flip. Cheers

Been seeing some interesting creations in amongst these on the Burger Scholar Channel.

I like venison mince as a burger. Very dense grind that is naturally sticky and makes for a nice thin quickly cooked piece of goodness with finely diced onions and garlic. Then there is the venison schnitzel type steak cuts - thin sliced tender little morsels make great burger fodder when mixed with slices of bacon and mushroom. Add a token piece of lettuce to suit. I also make up what I call a binder salad - helps hold things in the burger. Grated carrot, a spoonful of whole grain mustard, a spoonful of basil pesto and some crushed feta cheese. Mix well and add a blob to any burger.

How could you go past a McDonalds burgerHamburgers.....
    Still good after 24years

Internet stunned by state of McDonald'''s hamburger left in bag for 24 years | 7NEWS

Just need to rehydrate it 🤮🤮

A good hamburger isn’t just a good patty, although that’s where you start, add a little bit of lettuce (not half a head), a couple of slices of tomato, maybe a little carrot if your that way inclined, gotta have some beetroot (you can beet an egg but you can’t beet a root), a slice of good cheese, a rasher of bacon, cooked onion and a splash of you favourite sauce, mine at the moment apart from the obligatory homemade chilli sauce is Beerenberg coopers bbq ale sauce

Coopers BBQ Ale Sauce - Beerenberg Farm

All put together on a fresh baked roll, soft in the middle with a nice bit of crust on the outside (none of these sweet, soft all round pre packaged commercial type rolls)

    Hamburgers.....Hamburgers.....

    Gav

Don’t forget you need a drink to match the sauce, Coopers Sparking or Pale ale, (Mild ale if you have to drive)Hamburgers.....Hamburgers.....

Best & most expensive burger I have ever had was from a place Parrots in Brisbane City someplace.
This was back in the 80's so it probably no longer around but they did the biggest, bestest burgers for a big price.
