I agree with that But that doesn't change the fact that this particular mod is illogical and pointless not to mention a complete waste of money and a perfectly good 4WD.
The ride in a series landrover isn't that flash to begin with, Just imagine what it will be like after it has been slammed.

I saw recently a Rav4 , obviously "slammed" and running on who knows what size huge rims with the lowest sidewalls I have ever seen.

I reckon that was pointless but I bet his mates think it's cool.....I can imagine their heads nodding in agreement as he croozes up and down the Surfers Paradise esplanade on a friday night.

....and not to be forgotten , you also see similarly attired ....should it be attyred... Range Rovers doing the same thing , with 4-500 watts of doof as well.

One thing I have to give these guys is the vehicles are absolutely gleaming.

I think part of the fun of doing these modifications is to tick off the rivet counters & 'you can't 4WD that' brigade.

And art, in its truest sense, aims to get a person to see or think about things in a different way.

I had a 77 2 door RRC for awhile (that I really just bought for the Maxi F&R diffs) that in my view was a work of art and a 'classic' of an era, reverse 'slammed' with 2" spring lift, 2" body lift, Maxi everything diffs F&R, 4.4 race motor, 3" mandrel exhaust, winch challenge bar, Warn, on the front, 35 x 12 tyres, etc.

Some would criticise those mods, but there were plenty running around back in the day and they were works of art and got thrashed in use like F1 cars which are also works of art.

The thrashing of such vehicles is also a form of art. Like here for example:

Ellis Track (warbt Trip - Hard) 15/16 April

Even 'chopping' a RRC was viewed as 'normal'. Pirate in the US used to get the post chant up 'Sawsall, sawsall' when someone bought an immaculate 4 door.

Towards the end the elder statesmen would say the new finds posted should be restored.

This thing from Pirate is a work of art, but the absolute opposite of 'slammin'.

I'd prefer to see LR's converted to lowriders, so even if they look slammed the suspension can be raised to normal height or beyond.
