A penny for you thoughts?

I have two concerns with electronic traction aids,

1: How do you get back out of where you are if they fail?
2: What is to stop a novice from driving into a situation where the car falls over due to wheels being massively in the air?

I would think that any of those limitations would apply to any 4x4 accessory, like diff locks, or a GPS or even a map and are not limited to electronic traction aids.

People who push their vehicles to the limit are going to do it no matter what options it's got. Exceeding the vehicles capabilities is relative to the vehicle and the driver. Long travel coil springs were always said to be unstable, how many knuckle heads take Rav4's and get them stuck, plenty. just having a extra set of driving wheels can put you into the Exceeding capabilities club.

Cars that travel over 30k an hour are all POTENTIALLY dangerous. Singling out one "Option" as a potential cause of driver injury is good reason for us all to park up our trucks and let them fence off the tracks.

Just my opinion.

Don't we all but it's exactly the same concerns as finding some plonker, with too much money, throwing lots of toys at a cruiser or a Defender?

Oh belive me i have seen many cheque book off roaders who have done that:)
I drive hard , very hard as mark will agree with :D , but pride myself on the fact that i have never put a truck on its roof. Come bloody close though.
Last time was on a hill and the truck was sitting there with the back wheel with 6 foot + of air under it. Sat there with the foot on the brake and holding the steering wheels as a rut was trying to turn the wheels. If it had turned the wheels i would have rolled down a very steep hill. My Co driver mark had to reach in the cab and put the lockers on and put the truck in revers for me as i did not want to let go of the steering wheel as it would have turned if i only i had one hand on the Wheel. Then once in gear i had to keep my foot on the brake and the other foot on the clutch and press the loud pedal with my heal of my right foot. Tricky but got out of it.. That was one of those cases where we both looked at each other at the end and went f*** that was close:D

Here's some of the 'home made' suspension ramp when I had my 31's on and no body lift. Not high enough though, almost drove over the edge and still had the rear wheel on the ground :eek:
