the orange thingy is to re locate the springs back to their seat, and the travell is due to my custom rear shock mounts and 11'' stroke shocks

i just put my rears in the front and fronts in the rear!!! 220lb front and 175lb rear. back could be a bit stiffer ...190-200lb... but custom springs will follow.

they are 33's the rub on the spring seats at the top and miss the tops of the wheel boxes by 30mm, with the right offset i should be able to clear the springs, but i might then need to extend the wheel arches oh where dose it stop??
the front wont articulate up any more than that due to the tyres attacking the shock towers, again the right offset should clear this

    lift is 60mm...120mm bumpstop f&r.

    cheers phil

So, if you have a modded vehicle that can go anywhere, doesn't necessarily make you a good off road driver?
I think what happens is that everything balances out somehow. We tend to set our limit where we feel comfortable (or just slightly uncomfortable) with the perceived risk or challenge given our vehicle's capabilities and our skill. So with a better vehicle or more skill we are tempted to attempt more challenging tracks.
The capabilities of the vehicle are not necessarily an indication of the capabilties of the driver.
My standard Defender has this much articulation

It gets me where I want to go without causing me (or my wife) undue stress. If I thought I might want to go tackle more challenging tracks I could either modify the vehicle or improve my technique. At present I have no great desire to do either because I don't feel I am missing out on anything that matters to me.
