just finished playin with some more springs! still not right but better than b4.
at least now the body is sitting flat, now to get some offset rims and get them tyres off the spring towers!![]()
cheers phil
Bloody hell! What's the red cone on top of the diff housing? How'd you get the diff to drop that low?
what springs are running all round bud? got some good flex there![]()
are they 33's? cause youve got way more up travel then me, but me got 35's![]()
2-2.5" lift?
the orange thingy is to re locate the springs back to their seat, and the travell is due to my custom rear shock mounts and 11'' stroke shocksBloody hell! What's the red cone on top of the diff housing? How'd you get the diff to drop that low?![]()
i just put my rears in the front and fronts in the rear!!! 220lb front and 175lb rear. back could be a bit stiffer ...190-200lb... but custom springs will follow.what springs are running all round bud? got some good flex there
are they 33's? cause youve got way more up travel then me, but me got 35's![]()
2-2.5" lift?
they are 33's the rub on the spring seats at the top and miss the tops of the wheel boxes by 30mm, with the right offset i should be able to clear the springs, but i might then need to extend the wheel archesoh where dose it stop??
the front wont articulate up any more than that due to the tyres attacking the shock towers, again the right offset should clear this![]()
lift is 60mm...120mm bumpstop f&r.
cheers phil
now lets hear anyone tell you that your car doesn't articulate well hey!!!!![]()

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
I think what happens is that everything balances out somehow. We tend to set our limit where we feel comfortable (or just slightly uncomfortable) with the perceived risk or challenge given our vehicle's capabilities and our skill. So with a better vehicle or more skill we are tempted to attempt more challenging tracks.
The capabilities of the vehicle are not necessarily an indication of the capabilties of the driver.
My standard Defender has this much articulation
It gets me where I want to go without causing me (or my wife) undue stress. If I thought I might want to go tackle more challenging tracks I could either modify the vehicle or improve my technique. At present I have no great desire to do either because I don't feel I am missing out on anything that matters to me.
