    New Toy

Well after talking with Bruce Davis and the rest of you at the expo I now have a new transmission cooler to fit . I'm hoping the second cooler will control my gearbox temps and in so doing help with the engine temperature fluctuations.
Also got a fire extinguisher thrown in as I knew the owner of the business. Got to be happy with that.
So where have people located their fire extinguishers. I was thinking of the front of the seat box on the drivers side or on the back of cab on the drivers side.

No matter where you put it , be sure you can get it out easily. The last thing you need to be doing when you need it is fighting the bloody thing out of it's hole.

Time wasted means you have to claim more on your insurance forms

Thats where mine is, used once to deflame my alternator between Hay & West Wyalong. Easy to grab when needed & doesn't get in the way, I think I have a pic in my old gallery on the old website.

The other thing to watch out for with the extinguisher is that it's braced incase it flies loose in a front end impact (It WILL make a big hole!!!)! I'd consider a simple webbing strap or cable tie to make sure (believe me... They'll come undone quick enough when you need to).

I have mine on the heelboard/ front of the seatbox like you suggest, the last thing you want to be doing is opening second doors and lifting off what ever got packed in front of it. That is why the drivers seatbox is good.

I also didn't like the idea of it flying around. So I looked around till i found one with a metal bracket and got a second bracket as well. There are now 2 over centre clasps on the extinguisher, one near the top and one near the bottom. It stayed in place even after a 360 degree rollover.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I actually have a portable fan and can of petrol, so when it goes up, it goes properly.
Just kidding, mine is adjacent to the park brake.

Thanks guys. It was the only bit of work this week that has gone smoothly. Extinguisher fitted but still unable to drive the darn thing. Starting to wish it would go up in smoke so I can just get one already fixed.
