The new Range Rover had 10k deposits from just UK customers alone before it was in the show room to touch metal. If you have not put your UK order in before launch there is a one year wait.

The 300 had more deposits and orders than that before it was here and that is just Aus.
They are saying almost 20K,but who knows the exact amount.
The local dealer here had 55 deposits and orders, many from fleet customers, and we are not in a rural area, and the local dealer is not that big compared to many others.
    There are around 300 dealers.

Yota seem to be the worst with lead times at the moment. When looking recently we got the following info.

    RAV4 Hybrid - 2 years wait
Prado - 2 plus years wait
Fortuna - Unknown - probably dropping production next year to catch up on more popular models
    Hilux SR5 - 18 Months

I called Mazda and asked about a CX-8 - 2 mid spec and one with full fruit available in the next 3 weeks. Other orders 3 months.

Subaru - 3 to 6 months for most variants.

Mate ordered a Isuzu Mux in Jan - delivery (at this stage) October…

Mate ordered a new RR last year on the day it was internationally released. No firm date yet but the dealer “thinks October” - just over 12 months.

Australia is Mazda’s biggest export market (apparently) and hence they are nice to us.

All manufacturers have lengthy delays at the moment.
88 Perentie FFR - Club Rego
    93 Discovery 1 200 Tdi - Club Rego
    03 130 Td5 Single Cab
    06 Discovery 3 Petrol
    22 Defender 90 - Full rego

And for the record there is no change to the delays for LC300,for Aus.

It’s all click bait many fall for.

Yes , that's how I read it too.

All other car companies would be wishing they had close to Toyota sales figures.

I read another article that stated that Toyota is going to limit the number of 300's into Australia to help reduce its average CO2 emissions/100kms. LC300, Hilux and one other I can not think of are Toyota's biggest CO2 / 100km polluters. I do not believe this fully as I have not read or heard anything about Toyota reducing their sale volumes of the Hilux or other vehicles.

That doesn’t sound right to me - no car manufacturer is held to any targets like that in Australia and overall it’s a small market so Globally makes no sense either.

More like they simply don’t have the components to build much of anything at the moment - Yota themselves have admired this.

The average fleet fuel economy measure is used in USA and EU. In the EU the German brands and their Government fought very hard against its introduction and then on how it is interpreted
