Yet audible reversing sensors are not mandatory in Aus,for all vehicles under 4.5T,and they are guarrantee to save the lives of our little ones.
And a $2.00 item for a vehicle manufacturer to supply and fit.
Although many have them fitted as standard equipment but unfortunately not all.
$2,00 sounds cheap but on a production run of a million cars that is $2M which is why car makers are loath to add extras.

White noise is better than the previous sound.
Tests have shown that it was almost impossible to tell the direction from which the original sound was coming. It is much easier to pick the direction from which white noise is coming.
White noise might not be audible over as great a distance as the original sound, but it is audible at the distance that matters.
It is important to know which direction the truck is coming from.
    It is also less annoying.

Hi-vis just needs to make you visible. It does that.

I'm still not tempted, but JerryD might be.
