I hope I do! I need at least a week of no rain, and preferably temperatures at least in the high twenties, and a good brisk northerly to dry the ground out. In another week, I'll be running short on food, or at least short on variety, if we don't get this.

It is surprising how many forecasts they do get wrong though, so no wonder they had a name change. I have always believed that the Weather Forecasters forecast race results while Race Forecasters do the weather.

I'm not religious but I do remember something in the bible saying build on the rocks and not upon the sand.

The reason so many people are affected by floods is because of where they chose to live.

This rain has really done so much good for the whole country , flushing out stale waterways, and revitalising our rivers , lakes and filling nearly all water storage in the country to maximum levels.

You really can't fight nature, some of our countries inhabitants have lived with it for 50-60,000yrs without problem, but we are struggling to get past 200 and I dont think we are going to be any better by 250......

You're right you know when one sees footage of water trying to flow under bridges but can't because of the rubbish that folk have chucked into various waterways. Where the **** do they think it is going to go? Upstream to where it originated? DUHHHHH!

Are Councils not doing a proper job in cleaning/clearing or allowing people to build on flood prone water meadows etc?
