Anyone else sick of this rain.

The rain earlier this week contributed to a major failure of the area's gas pipeline, so now Bathurst, Oberon, Wallerawang and Young are without gas and the estimate is a few weeks until its fixed. I'm not sure how many people are affected but Bathurst is about 45,000 so that's quite a lot. Haven't seen any major news coverage of it either.

I do love listening to the rain on the roof. Its a bit like watching the waves roll in.

I'm Off to Portland for a 4 hour run in the rain possibly Sunday. Oddly a NNE wind for the morning! It will be a chilled run!

I Love Portland- its windy, rainy and the half marathon people cheer as they run past me up a big hill they start on at my 21km half way point!

I had no choice- The Portland runners club used my ugly mug from a few years ago before titanium reinforcements modification added to me, to promote this years run.

This house was built in 1915 with tin roof but the insulation we added does tend to cut down the sound a bit.:no2:

The only ceiling insulation previously was Dust & horse Chaff from the next door Stables. Still, a lovely pong though.

Interesting article in the paper today. Victoria's 2nd largest dam is a storage dam which was and is not designed for flood mitigation. It does function as one to some extent often of course.

I put an article about atmospheric rivers in another thread. They are not caused by climate change - warmer air does make more heavy rainfall more likely of course!

Mitigation is a interesting topic I assume we might be hearing a bit more about. For some in high flood risk areas it may be a significant mater for so not making a joke about it.

Take care in NSW and Vic flood zones- Its looking like INCOMMING records for several places.

I expect to be isolated again by this afternoon. In Dubbo, which has minor flooding, but is expected to have moderate flooding by now, the river gauge, which had been rising by a few centimetres every fifteen minutes, at 0900 jumped about 1.2m - and there have been no data since. I wonder if it just washed away?
