    IMHO there's no better way to keep the dust out than to close the windows and open the vents.

    The only Counties without the vents were those with factory air - and these were probably a minority. And certainly I for one looked for one without factory air for that reason.

    The advantage of the vents over other types of ventilation is that they allow air to circulate while parked and locked, particularly if there is a bit of a breeze, making a lot cooler car to get into in summer. Certainly they let dust in when following or passing other traffic, but on most dusty roads such traffic is fairly uncommon - if following someone stop for five minutes if necessary.
