    Photos of new Defender

Found these pics of the updated 2007 Defender....

    Interior

    Exterior

Exterior looks pretty much the same however interior has been upgraded to fit in with the new corporate styling. I wonder what additional electrickery this model will introduce (for the worse?).

Love the dash, still looks very functional but at the same time not too modernised for the Fender

Plus looks like it will be the first to have a Tacho as standard, to read the revs on the TDV6????????

    New Defender

    Yes, we all want one.

Here is the chance for the legend to continue, hopefully with the electrics at a minimum.

It looks good, whats with the bulge in the bonnet?

This fender wont have the TDV6, the totally new one will cause it will have the same chassis as the D3, the engine going into the updated fender is a 2.7L version of theTurbo diesel found in the mondeo in europe. Matt

The dash looks like a mockup - I wonder if is the final version. Not real inspired I'm afraid, but it could be worse - and it looks reasonably practical, although the curved top on the instrument pod would cause anything you put there to slide off (e.g. books, chainsaw sharpener etc).

Lets hope they make the interior more accomodating so the journos dont have anything to say that is negative about them. Matt

The open gloveboxes look ideal for airbags..

The windscreen airflaps are still there, but the airflow must be ducted somwhere. Into the circular vents?

This is uppermost in my mind, having made the clasasic Defender mistake on Sunday - tidal wave of muddy water over the bonnet, with flap open..never knew that vent could pass so much so quickly..

    Regards
    Max P
