We are the same,do repairs at some large sites that have service contracts with a national company, with over 700 staff.
The comments often are we provide a service way better than they have ever done, and get jobs fixed promptly, and properly the first time,we have 6 staff....

On another note the large mobs charge huge money to do the service, yet do virtually nothing,at least half the breakdowns we do are due to the lack of proper maintenance.

What it boils down to is the building owner is not managing their maintenance contracts properly.
One can guess who they are, clue, they run on our taxes.

They do not even do stuff that would mean money!
I bought a caravan awning light from a well known supplier on Ebay.
Wired it up and did not work. I placed a not as described and was refunded.
The next week I checked it again before chucking it and it was my fault that a crimp was no good.
So I sent a message to them (on their website message form) that it was OK and I wanted to pay . No reply.
Called them on their listed number, got voice mail , asked for someone to call back as I wanted to pay and how to do it eg bank transfer.
    No reply.
BUT I get lots of emails promoting their specials now!
    Regards PhilipA

We built our business on good service delivering on time & in most cases before time. This helped us secure government contracts of 1year with 5 one-year options allowing booth parties to pull out at the end of each year. One Gov contract we had for over 25 years until we sold our business & retired. The new owner didn't give the same service & sold the business after 5 years, but the now owner is giving the same service as we did & is winning back the customers.

I won't name brands but I guess at least one of them would be considered a respectable oz supplier of after market 4wd gear. I figured it might also be due to the fact that the item is fairly large and heavy and shipping down here will cost a fortune and there is more than -too much- work in de 4bee biz as it now stands, or is that cooling down now that we seem to have accepted that the rona's is just the new flu?

In any case, I got some time to wait it out, calling them would be an option but the time difference means I would have to get up in the middle of the night to put in a call (which will probably be prohibitive)

And yes, customer service is ridiculous at times these days. Pretty much every week I think to myself: if I were to do business like this, I would be fired the next day or be broke in no time (I am self employed). Guess this just shows my age

    Cheers,
    -P

Courier services in oz are hit and miss at the best of times even in my game

I can order gear from Adelaide at 2pm and have it on my doorstep at 10am next morning

If I order from Brisbane it takes 3 days

From Sydney it's here in 2 days

From Melbourne and it can take a week

I'm not naming names either, but I want to...

Last October I ordered a radiator for my son's kettle Patrol. Rad was from a very reputable company. However, I was able to get it "cheaper" through a mob that is promoted by those blokes who post videos about how bogged they got and how many vehicles they broke that seem to be popular.
I was told that it would be 6-8 weeks because it needed to be made and of course 'rona. Ok, I can wear that, should be here for Christmas... December came and went, so did January. BTW, I didn't wait in silence. I kept getting some different, bubbly breathless girl who knew nothing... Contact was made with the manufacturer, who said the order had been completed and dispatched to the other mob. Said mob denied this, and blamed ME because I had asked for an extra temp sender hole to be fitted. Manufacturer said that wasn't an issue, they did it all the time. Mob said they would send it Express " as soon as we have it".
Cut a long and sometimes blasphemous story short, said radiator arrived in APRIL. It was made in Brisbane and is excellent ( might give you a hint ).
It should be noted that the mob had $1400 of my money from the start. I should have demanded it back but I didn't want to delay the radiator.... little did I know.
I will never use that mob EVER again.
