I started with a 73 144, had 3 244s and a 242 and then the 740 wagon. The 740 was the only one that only had 2 pedals (and was the only slushbox I've ever owned).

It drove out the driveway at about 3pm and I miss it already.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that 144.

It sacrificed itself to save me. The comment from the tow truck driver that pulled me out through the window was "Mate, if you were driving a Toyota you'd be dead". I bought another Volvo.
Geez it was fun to drive.

People who put shopping, books or anything of a decent weight on the passenger seat had the same problem.

I bought a 144 purely for the 15" mags that went onto my 245.

I disconnected the sensor in the Volvo. Unplug, job done. I have the same issue in the D3 with my backpack on the passenger seat, but I haven't been game to unplug the sensor because I believe it'd disable the passenger airbag and I love my wife enough to want the extra protection.

242 Bertone or Volvo? Despite the ridiculous lack of headroom, the Bertone was rare and desirable.

No, the 242GT. I did lust after the Bertone, but it was always way above my price range and still had the problematic PRV V6. Mine were all 4's.

Volvos will always hold a special place in my heart. As a kid Dad had a 850 T5 wagon. Went like **** off a shovel, have fond memories of being in the rear facing back seats, waving to 5L Commodores as we went past them.

Being a D3 it would probably stop.
