Good speeds and high download limits.
Only problem is there help desk is only open office hours, but you can send them an email anytime and they will get back to you.

I'm with WestNet - can vouch for the service, available at all reasonable hours, esp on Eastern seaboard (help desk is in WA). Was so pleased I've put my long distance phone through them (billing, not VOIP). Had a modem fried - replaced no difficulties under warrenty. Never had a problem with downtimes.
I am with Telstra (Bigpond) Broadband and have been for years and I have never had a problem. Oh sure been a couple of times when it was down for short periods, but nothing major. I have unlimited download and the 512 speed. Their Tech support is great, even had a Tecchie out to the house when Son-in Law, he of the enquiring mind " Oh whats this button do" "PRESS" stuffed the router and they couldn't work out over the phone what the problem was.......just needed to be reset (Button at the back). No cost.
Regards filters (Line splitter) yes you will need one attached to every phone if you are going to run ADSL, then you can be on the internet and still send and receive phone calls.
I have mine set up so the phone runs through the computer, that way the computer can turn on if call unanswered and record details and I can send faxs etc directly from my computer.
I also run a wireless system connects to my daughters computer, that way they can be online at the same time I am........no fights over internet that way and being the solitary male in a house of 6 females I tend to lose most arguments, they just gang up on me. " Yes we did tell you", "Mum! Didn't we tell dad" "Yes they did tell you Robert!" "See Dad, we did tell you! You just getting to be too old, your memory is failing"..........only to learn months later that they DID NOT tell me.....it was all a con.
So put in a wireless system from your computer to the additional computer, does not cost any more in connection fees ( well at least not with Telstra) saves alot of arguments and dents to the manly pride.
Internode is good. Some goverment departments in SA use Internode network. I have ADSL for 2.5 years and no problems. Support is very responsive. Read carefully every letter in contract before. IMHO Telstra is not on top.
If you familiar with wireless security and you have problems running cables go for it and wireless router. I am in country and know most people who live around me and sure that nowbody will try to use my wireless broadcasting. Also I know how to easy get any wireless network: come, listen, crack, join and go. I am renting house and can't run cables inside walls, etc. BUT I'm running cable network in my house. Why? Stable, secure (internet banking, etc.) and no floating computers. I don't need to spend extra for getting wireless cards for desktops and don't worry about getting good communication between different wireless brands.

I also use Exetel. No problems in the last 6-12 months since I've had it. I use my old ADSL modem I got when I was with Telstra (talk about overpriced ADSL!!) and hooked it into a Netgear wireless router. We run one laptop and a desktop through it no problems. Plus anyone elses laptop who comes over.
I have 128/512 I think. Half the price of what I was paying with Telstra for similar if not more capacity with only 64/256!
