    I feel they have missed an real opportunity....they could have called it a Tata Ranger Rover or Tata Defender, etc.

    Modern land rovers have nothing to do with what the name stands for. I do not doubt the modern defender is still a very capable vehicle off road, under certain artificial circumstances but no. Like has been said above, they stopped making them in 2016 (and before that) so why bother using the name. It has become a bit of a joke. A shame really since this site owes it's name to the brand, it's just that the brand has grown away from it's users.

    I wonder how many brands will fall to this fate with the EV-i-fication of just about everything...
